While most women’s running shoes are merely shrunken versions of designs created for men, the adidas PureBoost X has been completely created with women in mind. adidas used motion tracking technology Aramis to study the female foot and it’s movement. The PureBoost X is the result of years of research and is getting a huge advertising push in collaboration with social media influencers.
If the PureBoost X’s silhouette gives you slight lightbulb vibes, that’s intentional. A woman’s foot tends to be wide at the ball and narrow toward the heel. The sock-like upper hugs the foot snugly and is flexible enough for optimum performance.
The most standout feature is the floating arch described via press release,
“The contours of the female foot inspired the design of the shoe’s unique floating arch detail. The adaptive stretch mesh of the floating arch wraps underneath the midfoot delivering a supportive sensation you can feel during every run. The unique design allows for a more comfortable fit that works with the natural movements of the foot.”
